360 Animated Films

360 animated Films

A collection of short animated films inspired by classic video game properties as well as original content

Over the years I created a number of well-received 360-animated films both for film festivals and online. These 3D animated 360 films have received millions of views, and sponsorships, and have been staff picks by companies including VeeR and Adobe. The topics of the film often include classic video game remakes, music videos or original animations.

Mario VR is a viral video that helped launch the 360 animation craze on YouTube. The video has been viewed over 14 million times with many copycats remaking the video. The project was completed during a live stream over 8 weeks and was a staff pick by both VeeR and Adobe.

Proxima B Music Video

This 360 music video is a collaboration between myself and Japanese EDM artist Dalziel. The experience is set inside a low-rent apartment in a futuristic world where ghosts of those who have passed on live as digitized apparitions.

Pac Man’s haunted house is a reimagining of the classic Pacman video game as a 360 video horror experience. Because of the high-quality nature of the project, it took a full 6 months to render and has almost 1 million views on YouTube.

Journey VR was my first 360-animated film which was developed as a pilot VR piece for Seattle Fashion Week. During its first public showing, the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) approached me about adding it to the official selection for the 2016th film festival. After the showing at SIFF, I was approached by game marketplace STEAM to add it as a rental. Journey VR became the #1 selling 360 experience on STEAM for 30 days at the time of its launch to the public.

Sonic VR

With sponsorship from a computer manufacturer called Puget Systems, I was given the resources to model, animate and render in C4D the 360 animated film Sonic VR. The sponsored video now has over 2 million views on youtube and had helped Puget Systems increase their visibility as a direct result.

Since 2016 I have planned, modeled, animated, and produced a number of 360 animated films gaining a number of sponsorships, public praise, and millions of views online. These films have also resulted in a number of speaking engagements so I can share my process and vision.
